State Deputy’s Message

Worthy Grand Knights and Financial Secretaries

Brother Knights

We are well on our way into Fall now and it seems time goes faster and faster. We had a slow summer in the new member area so let’s get moving now and bring the news of Knighthood to all men. I applaud those who have held church drives and exemplifications thus far, thank you.

I bring you all Greetings from Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly and the State Officers of Saskatchewan. What a pleasure it was to travel to Orlando for the Supreme Convention and Patrick Kelly sent his warm wishes to all of our councils.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Pregnancy Options Centre in Saskatoon and presented them with an ASAP cheque from Supreme. It was a terrific experience visiting Dee at the centre and she was delighted with the help the Knights have given to support life. If you haven’t had the chance to view the video that we made visit the website and check it out.

As we head into fall, I am asking all Knights to be recruitment active. We have a goal to reach half of our quota by December 31, 2023, with Supreme discounting the quota if we achieve this milestone. There is also incentives in our favour if we achieve this success. Ask a man, ask your neighbour, ask a friend relative or grandson, we can achieve this by staying focused and thus we will be ensuring the Knights for years to come.  I have put out some very rewarding incentives for all councils to participate in. I am focused on councils that have not recruited for several years so get in on the incentive payback.

I will be attending the Holistic Care Convention at Queens House from October 26-27, 2023. I hope this will be an informative Convention with the discussion, presenters, and the collaboration of all interested parties.  I am looking forward to our breakout sessions with the presenters and the CWL of our parishes to confront the problems at hand and maybe give insight and suggestions to better our health care.

I remind all of you to remember the KNIGHTS’ AMAZING RACE SEASON TWO. The new list of tasks is out, so why not become the next winner of a pizza party for your council? Its easy, its fun and it attracts new men to your council by being active. Register today its never to late and your council may be the next quarter winner.

I welcome Brother Blake Schneider to the State Team. Blake was in New Haven for 5 days taking the COR training. He is a great asset to our team, and I look forward to seeing his presentation soon on the COR initiative.  If you see Blake congratulate him, he has taken on a great role within the Knights here in Saskatchewan. More information on COR will soon be available.

I ask all Brother Knights to remember to keep the Lori Family in your prayers for the passing of the mother of Archbishop Lori the Supreme Chaplain. May she rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon her.

I also ask you to pray for the repose of the soul of Past State Deputy Alex Nahachewsky 1984-1986. Blessings to his family who had a beautiful service in his memory, may he rest in peace. His death has sparked a yearning with all Past State Deputies, and they will be meeting October 13 – 15, 2023 in Saskatoon for a reunion. Pray for all their continued health and may the blessings of the Lord be with them as they reminisce and catch up as Knights.

I Am asking for support for training seminars again. I have submitted a request to Supreme to have Brother Shawn Veters come to Saskatchewan once again.  State trainer Bob Barkman along with myself, Rob Young, and Dan Devers will be hosting seminars to assist District Deputies, Grand Knights and Financial Secretaries with the tools you need to be successful. Please do not hesitate to call me at any time but stay tuned for the session’s information coming soon.

Please find attached the new Knights of Columbus Amazing Race Season Two second quarter activities.

Please report to amazingracesask2022@gmail.com this is the only email points will be tabulated from.

Get involved, get busy and have some fun attracting new men to the order.

Also attached in this message are the October Incentives………Get some money for your council by signing up a new Knight, hosting a church drive and attending an Exemplification.

In closing, I want to say thank you to all Brother Knights who have been so dedicated and welcoming when I visit. It is truly a pleasure to be your State Deputy and I am very proud of the progress we as Knights have made in this beautiful province, we call home.

ONLY TOGETHER AS A GROUP OF CATHOLIC MEN WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITIES AND PARISHES.
