Faith in Action Program Model

  • Keep working on the Faith in Action programs.
    • Faith – Rosary Program – October is Rosary month to honour our Blessed Virgin Mary.
    • Family – Family of the Month/Year – one of the easiest programs your council can run.
    • Community – Coats for Kids – purchase coats through knightsgear.ca. Provide warmth for deserving children during cold winter months.
    • Life – Marches for Life.
  • Order your materials for your November/December programs – Keep Christ in Christmas, Basketball Free Throw Championship, Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest, etc.
  • Work with your Chaplains/Priests. Ask him “How can we help you?”
  • Good programs in your councils drive Membership and Membership drives Programs.

 Supreme Forms – Please Submit These Important Annual Forms:

  • Form 185 – Report of Officers Chosen for Term – due June 30.
  • Form 365 – Service Program Personnel Report – due August 1.
  • Form 1295 – Semi-annual Council Audit Report – due August 15.
  • Forms are available and can be downloaded from the Supreme website kofc.org/forms. Please review and get familiar with the newly revised forms.

2019-2020 Program Reporting Form Change

  • All councils are required to start using Form 10784 – Fraternal Programs Report Form in reporting your council Fraternal programs. Complete Form 10784 after you have finished a Supreme or State program.
  • Form 10784 is available on www.kofc.org and www.kofcsask.com websites.
  • Please email a copy of this document to fraternalmission@kofc.org and to programs@kofcsask.com.

Safe Environment – Office of Youth Protection:

  • Safe Environment Program – the requirement for 4 positions:
    • Grand Knight – training
    • Program Director – training
    • Family Director – training and background check
    • Community Director – training and background check
  • It is important for councils to be Safe Environment compliant early. Before you run any programs.
  • Safe Environment compliance is required for all awards, including the Star Council award.
  • Remain compliant with updated Safe Environment requirements (see kofc.org/safe for details).

  • Keep working on the Faith in Action programs.

  • Let us make implementing Faith in Action a top priority in our councils.
  • Work with your Chaplains/Priests.
  • A great quote on how we should look at our Faith in Action programs – “Faith in the Family brings Life to the Community”.
  • To be eligible for the Columbian Award – each program category has one required program that a council must conduct. These programs can be done at any time of the fraternal year.

July 1st marks the start of a brand-new year. The start of the new fraternal year brings new leaders, new programs and new goals. Congratulations to all elected Grand Knights, whether newly elected or re-elected. Your position is one of importance and pride. The State Service Program Directors and Chairmen are ready to help you attain Star Council. Congratulations to the following State Program Directors – Faith Director – Paul Ponak, Family Director – Ron Denis, Community Director – John Marshall, Life Director – Gerald Wiegers and to all the Chairmen in the four Faith in Action categories.

Also, welcome to all new and returning District Deputies for this Fraternal Year.

June 2019 State Program Director’s Message

Faith In Action Program Model

  • Completing Faith in Action’s Year-End Forms – Council deadlines for Faith In Action programs and Columbian Award requirements is June 30.

Steps to Completing Your Year-End Forms

  1. Go to kofc.org/forms and download the updated Columbian Award Application (#SP-7). Look at the faith in action section: Notice the four programs listed under each of the four categories.
  2. Complete the final paperwork for any required or featured programs you completed. The forms are available at kofc.org/faithinaction under the resources section.
  3. Review the Columbian Award Application. Fill in all 16 program spaces. Then, submit the form to fraternalmission@kofc.org. See kofc.org/faithinaction for details.
  4. Confirm that your council is safe environment compliant. Have your grand knight, program director, family and community director been trained and had their backgrounds checked? If not, visit kofc.org/safe to complete the required steps.

Supreme Forms – Please Submit These Important Annual Forms:

  • Form 1728 – Annual Survey of Fraternal Activity – was due January 31. If you missed the deadline, there is still time to submit your form through Officer’s Online.
  • Form 10784 – Fraternal Programs Report Form
  • Use the revised all-in-one form. It replaces 24 individual report forms.
  • Form SP-7 – Columbian Application Award – due June 30. Please note that all donations made outside of Supreme-recommended programs will not count for program credit toward the Columbian Award. Remember that your council must conduct four required programs in each of these categories – Faith – Spiritual Reflection, Family – Consecration to the Holy Family, Community – Helping Hands and Life – Novena for Life.
