Press Release: Walking in the Footsteps of Faith Recap of the 104th Annual State Convention

The spirit of brotherhood and devotion was on full display in Saskatoon from April 17–19, 2026, as the Saskatchewan State Council Knights of Columbus gathered for their 104th Annual Convention.

Under the inspiring theme, “Walking in the Footsteps of Faith,” delegates from across the province joined together to celebrate a year of impactful service and to chart a course for the future of the Order in Saskatchewan. It was more than just a business meeting; it was a profound reunion of brothers dedicated to the core principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.

Highlights from the Convention

The weekend was filled with prayerful reflection and strategic planning. Key moments included:

  • Spiritual Foundation: The convention opened with a Mass celebrated by Most Rev. Bishop Michael Smolinski and Msgr. Maurice Fiolleau, grounding the proceedings in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
  • Decisive Action: Delegates passed several vital resolutions, reaffirming their commitment to Canadian Aid for Persecuted Christians, the sanctity of the Family, and the ongoing recognition of the Beatification of the Order’s founder, Blessed Michael McGivney.
  • Fraternal Connection: Between sessions, knights shared stories of faith and strengthened the bonds of friendship that define the Order.

A Legacy of Service

Current State Deputy Marte Clemente Marquez Nogot, who will transition to the role of Immediate Past State Deputy this summer, emphasized the importance of a seamless transition. He urged all members to rally behind the new leadership to continue driving positive change within our parishes and communities.

As the convention concluded with a Memorial Mass honoring deceased brothers, the delegates left Saskatoon inspired to live with purpose and to reflect Christ’s love in every corner of the province.

“Being a Catholic and a Knight is not simply a matter of living day by day, but of answering a higher calling: to live with purpose, to serve in charity, and to stand in righteousness.”
