Christian Persecution Report

Christmas is a significant time in Pakistan. As children, we would wait all year to shop for new clothes or shoes. Yet, many of our Christian brothers and sisters struggle daily due to a lack of opportunity and persecution based on their faith.

This Christmas, let us keep Christ at the center and remember the less fortunate and marginalized communities in Pakistan.

Harassment & Blasphemy Case of Story of Ashbeel

Dear brother Knights,

We urgently seek Humanitarian Support for two families facing severe hardship and persecution.

Eighteen-year-old Christian student Ashbeel was charged with blasphemy on March 6, 2023, in Attock city, Pakistan, after a class fellow alleged, he had insulted the Prophet Mohammad during a debate. Following his arrest and release, I, Nadeem Bhatti (President of CAPC), drove Ashbeel to a relative’s home an hour away for safety due to fears of a mob attack. The consequences for Ashbeel, once a bright student and soccer player, and his family have been severe: he is confined to home, his siblings’ education has been halted, and his father has lost his job. His mother is now the sole earner.

Ashbeel

CAPC has hired lawyer Arshad Taj for the case, which is progressing, though trial delays continue because key witnesses have failed to appear. At the last hearing on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the judge ordered police to ensure witness attendance for the next court hearing on Tuesday, December 16. Following a recent bullying incident, Ashbeel’s parents requested relocation to Islamabad, where he hopes to pursue studies in Hospitality or Cybercrime.

We are urgently raising funds to cover Ashbeel’s legal fees, relocation, and continued studies.

Chand and Family’s Story (Rape Case and Harassment):

We are also requesting urgent financial aid for Chand, his wife, Roma, and their two young daughters, Alina and Anna. The family recently relocated to Islamabad to escape violent attacks related to a legal case following the rape of their 3-year-old daughter by her school teacher, Mohammad Saleem, three years ago. Chand lost his job for refusing to drop the case and faced false accusations and threats, forcing two prior moves within Lahore.

– Medicine and necessary medical tests for his sick wife and daughter.
