Richard was passionate about his membership of the Knights of Columbus. Over a long and productive period, he achieved 3rd and 4th degrees within the order. He held many offices and served two terms as District Deputy under State Deputy, Father John M. Riffel. On several occasions, the Knights honoured him for his dedication and service to order.
